Electronic music is hard-wired into my brain. From the Star Trek theme in childhood and Kraftwerk-fueled cram sessions in college to this month's obsession with the work of Aphex Twin, Chemical Bros. and D.J. Spooky, I've always had a hungry science-fiction ear.
Never could play, though. Banged on a hapless succession of guitars, noodled with a couple electronic keyboards and a variety of percussion instruments. Built a xylophone, but until the advent of multimedia computers I couldn't afford or even understand synthesizers. Then I got this cheap little program and started messing around ... The MP3 loop you're listening to now is called "West." It's not art, just play. I'll post more experiments here as they improve. |
